Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry confirmed that Egypt will continue to intensify its efforts to stop the Israeli war against Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need for a significant and measurable change in the volume of humanitarian and relief aid entering the Gaza Strip amidst a worsening humanitarian crisis, which has intensified due to Israeli military operations in the Palestinian city of Rafah and the repeated displacement of citizens to unsafe areas. This came during Shoukry's reception today, Thursday, of Brett McGurk, the White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa. Shoukry stressed the necessity for Israel to comply with its obligations under the resolutions of the Security Council, the General Assembly, and the International Court of Justice by ensuring full and unhindered access for aid, opening all land crossings between Israel and Gaza, in addition to providing safe conditions for the operation of international relief agencies throughout the sector.
