As the new American ambassador is expected to arrive in Lebanon tomorrow, Thursday, or Friday at the latest, Lebanon awaits the arrival of American presidential envoy Amos Hochstein, who is on a tour in Europe, to see if he will bring proposals to discuss with Lebanese officials regarding the issue of land border stabilization. In this context, Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib stated to "Al-Jumhouriye": "We have not been officially informed by the American embassy of Hochstein's visit. We are waiting to see what the American intermediary brings us. Hezbollah's presence at the borders is imposed by the continued Israeli occupation of Lebanese territories in the Shebaa Farms and Kfarshouba Hills, and what remains of Ghajar." He added: "If Hochstein's mission is only to delineate or stabilize the borders, this will not solve the problem. The borders need to be shown, returning to the Green Line, which is the armistice line defined in 1948, and withdrawing from the occupied territories in the Shebaa Farms, Kfarshouba Hills, and the B1 point in northern Ghajar or the outskirts of the town of Mari." He noted that all responsible parties in Lebanon are speaking the same language, and Hezbollah shares the same position. Bou Habib believes that "any agreement or solution we reach requires the presence of a president of the republic. We have heard that the agreement will not be final until the Gaza war ends and a president is elected." He affirmed that "the solution will only be implemented by adhering to all provisions of Resolution 1701."
