Egypt is working on building a new space city in the administrative capital to serve the field of space science and localize this vital industry within the country. The space city aims to cover an area of 115 acres and will include various space-related activities. The city will feature the main building of the Egyptian Space Agency, an administrative building, a large conference hall, and a library dedicated to space science, as well as a large control and monitoring facility for the city. Additionally, it will have a collection of buildings and facilities for technicians and staff at the satellite assembly center. The Egyptian space city will also include a building for the African Space Agency, which has been established in the country. Furthermore, the city will house a model engineering lab, a space environmental lab, and a solar cell testing lab. The design and production center for satellites has successfully produced the first Egyptian satellite, "Egypt Sat 2," with Chinese expertise and launched it into space last December from the Chinese Tianyuan base.
