Lebanese Army Arrests 83 Wanted Individuals and Seizes Contraband

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation reported that on December 29, 2023, as part of the measures taken to maintain security and pursue wanted individuals and gunfire personnel in various Lebanese regions, units from the army conducted raids resulting in the arrest of 83 wanted individuals and the seizure of large quantities of weapons and military ammunition. It was noted that "the seized items have been handed over, and investigations with the detainees have commenced under the supervision of the competent judiciary." The Army Command urged citizens to refrain from firing weapons, especially during the holiday period, as it endangers the lives of others and entails legal responsibilities that could lead to prosecution and detention for those involved.
