Former Minister Mohammad Fneesh confirmed that "we have shown all flexibility and willingness for dialogue and meeting, believing that the management of the country's affairs can only be achieved through internal consensus, otherwise a national will must form. We have shown full responsiveness to efforts and mediations and continue to do so, but we believe that the solution in Lebanon will not be in accordance with external initiatives, but rather in the convergence of national wills, starting from an awareness of the country's interests."
During a memorial celebration in the southern town of Ma'roub, he emphasized that "the continuation of the obstruction in filling the presidential vacancy prolongs the crisis, as Lebanon's financial, monetary, social, and economic crises require a return to activating the role of state institutions, beginning with the presidency to the formation of the government to all state institutions and their administrations."
He pointed out that "the Syrian displacement crisis is one of the major problems for Lebanon and Syria, and thus it falls within the priorities that the Lebanese should address, whether from the existing government or the necessity for Lebanese to come together to formulate an understanding that reestablishes authority and reconstructs the state in order to begin a path out of this crisis that all Lebanese are suffering from."
Fneesh concluded: "Some in Lebanon do not want to learn from their history or experiences, but still prioritize their narrow calculations, betting on external suggestions and relying on the outside, which will not be beneficial and will not change the equations."
