Today, Wednesday, Lebanon witnessed protests in various areas condemning the Israeli bombing of the Baptist hospital in Gaza, coinciding with the closure of all universities and private and public schools. Various provinces and municipalities carried out protest gatherings. Calls were issued by unions, civil society institutions, and medical sectors to halt work or observe a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs, alongside statements denouncing this heinous crime.
The women's sector of the "Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine" organized a demonstration in Ain al-Hilweh camp to condemn the practices of the Zionist occupation in Gaza, which included a solidarity stand supporting the steadfastness of the people of Gaza.
The administration, doctors, and staff of the Labib Medical Center in Sidon held a solidarity stand "with our people in Gaza and in condemnation of the massacre at the Baptist hospital that resulted in hundreds of martyrs and wounded." The demonstrators emphasized that "this crime, which claimed our colleagues, is part of the series of heinous Zionist crimes against the Palestinian people, and we consider it a crime against humanity and a blatant violation of all religious principles, human values, and international laws and norms that are supposed to protect health institutions, especially hospitals."
The goldsmiths' market in Tripoli was closed, and its shop owners organized a sit-in within the market, raising Palestinian flags in solidarity. The head of the goldsmiths' guild in Tripoli, Khaled Al-Nammal, stated: "We have received and followed with great sadness and anger what has happened in Gaza and at the Baptist hospital. It is a sad picture and a heinous crime, and perhaps words fail me to express what I feel. Today, we close in sorrow, anger, and condemnation."
The "Lebanese-Palestinian Political Gathering" organized a march in Sidon, condemning the massacre at the Baptist hospital in Gaza. The march started from Martyrs' Square and took to the streets of the city, reaching Jamal Abdel Nasser Square - Al-Najma Square. The march was led by carriers of Lebanese and Palestinian flags, with participation from the Secretary-General of the "Popular Nasserite Organization," Dr. Osama Saad, representatives of Lebanese national parties and Palestinian factions, personalities, religious figures, and a crowd of Sidon residents and nearby locals from Ain al-Hilweh camp.
