Turkey announced today, Wednesday, the successful first flight of the fifth-generation fighter jet "Kaan," one of the most important technological projects in the country, carried out by Turkish Aerospace Industries. All flight tests for "Kaan" have been completed, including ejection seat tests, full static tests, inertial and control surface stability tests, landing gear drop tests, flight electronics system tests in the system integration laboratory, fuel tests, and engine start tests. The "Kaan" fighter jets are expected to enter service in 2028. They are stealth military aircraft and one of Turkey's key weapons. The wingspan is 14 meters, the height is 6 meters, and the length is 21 meters, with a maximum speed of 2205 km/h, operating at altitudes exceeding 16 km. An important feature is that it can carry weapons internally, providing strategic air-to-air and air-to-ground attack capabilities.
