Trump Describes Iran Conflict as One of His Administration's Toughest Challenges

U.S. President Donald Trump has acknowledged that the confrontation with Iran was among the toughest crises his administration has faced, highlighting that both diplomatic and military efforts were key to achieving what he described as significant agreements in the region.

Speaking from Joint Base Andrews, Trump noted that maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is gradually picking up activity following the recent agreement. He emphasized that the number of vessels passing through this vital waterway has significantly increased compared to the period marked by security and military tensions.

Trump also disclosed that he requested Chinese President Xi Jinping to refrain from intervening in the conflict with Iran, a request that Beijing agreed to, thereby helping to contain the crisis's scope.

Praising the role of Gulf countries, Trump extended his gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, stating that cooperation and coordination with these nations were crucial in supporting regional stability during the past phase.

In another address, Trump discussed political developments within Iran, describing the country as undergoing a significant transition following recent events. He indicated that the current agreements aim to prevent the return of escalation and to pave the way for a new phase of stability.

The American president asserted that the United States possesses substantial military and naval capabilities, asserting that Washington's actions during the crisis demonstrated its influence and ability to protect its interests and partners in the region.

These remarks come as the international community continues to monitor the implementation of recent understandings between Washington and Tehran, with anticipation of the upcoming negotiations' impact on regional security, commerce, and global energy dynamics.
