Motorcycle Theft Gang Caught by State Security

The regional directorate of Nabatiyeh in State Security arrested a gang composed of 11 individuals for stealing motorcycles, with 21 bikes seized; two have been returned to their owners. The remaining motorcycles will have their specifications disseminated through media and social networks to identify their owners for return under the supervision of the public prosecutor in the south, Abbas Jaha.

According to details, after residents of the town of Tole in Nabatiyeh hung up posters of two individuals stealing motorcycles, and following intensified investigations into the matter, the regional directorate of Nabatiyeh apprehended the gang. They confessed to stealing motorcycles and using drugs, and it was found that arrest warrants had been issued against them by the relevant judicial authorities, prompting legal action.

The General Directorate of State Security published pictures of the stolen motorcycles, requesting the original owners with documents proving ownership to contact the regional directorate of Nabatiyeh at 71/924533 to take the necessary actions.

A source within State Security noted that all thefts were carried out to obtain money for purchasing drugs, indicating a 100% correlation. This poses a serious threat to the lives and futures of our youth in Lebanon, with primary responsibility falling on drug mafias and their impact on Lebanese youth. The solution, in addition to the ongoing security efforts by State Security and cooperating agencies, lies in parental monitoring of their children through awareness and involvement, which is part of ongoing campaigns with schools and universities.

The issue is one of awareness in Lebanon, with parental awareness of their children’s behaviors and actions as a priority. No addict’s behavior goes unchanged in terms of spending, absence, or presence at home, but it requires monitoring.
