Member of the "Development and Liberation" bloc, MP Qassem Hashim, affirmed that what has happened in Palestine has imposed itself on Lebanon due to a clear reality in the course of the conflict with the Israeli enemy. In an interview with "Voice of Lebanon," he noted that what awaits us in the coming days or weeks is dictated by developments in the aggressive situation, whether in Palestine or in Lebanon, considering that what took place in the past few days confirms the enemy's adventurous nature and its insistence on expanding its aggression.
He emphasized the need for Lebanon to prepare itself with the resources it has and to maintain a united stance to face any emergency, standing behind the factors of strength in the country, namely the triad of the army, people, and resistance, which has proven capable of at least defending Lebanon and its sovereignty despite the barbarity of the Israeli enemy.
Regarding the potential assistance for displaced families, Hashim clarified that "the government has proposed a national plan for confrontation and we are in the midst of the events, with a movement of displacement along the southern borders." He lamented the existing shortcomings and the minimum level of response regarding the lack of resources. He confirmed that there are provisions in some areas, and in the Tyre region, there is particular attention due to the high volume of displacement and shelter centers, stating: "We are in constant communication with the concerned ministers." He revealed that a meeting was held yesterday in the Health Committee with the Minister of Social Affairs to assess the available resources and what ministries can offer. He pointed out that some ministers have a vision to request assistance, either from international relief organizations or from Arab brothers.
