Juventus Continues Frustrating Results Against Genoa

Juventus continued its frustrating results with another draw against its guest Genoa, ending without goals today, Sunday, in the 29th round of the Italian League. With this draw, Juventus raised its tally to 59 points in third place, equal with Milan (second place), while Genoa reached 34 points in 12th place. This result marked an ongoing streak of negative results for Juventus in recent weeks, as in their last 8 matches, they managed only one win, while drawing 4 and losing 3.

The game started with a surprise from the visitors, as Genoa almost scored its first goal through Bani, who took advantage of a free kick executed by Gudmundsson with a cross into the area, meeting it with a header that Szczęsny excellently diverted for a corner. In the 21st minute, Miretti received a pass from Chiesa and started to penetrate the area, falling after contact with Bani, but the referee indicated to continue play without any foul.

In the middle of the first half, defender Gatti, who advanced into attack, received a cross outside the area, sending a low shot that reached the goalkeeper's arms in the middle of the goal. Gatti tried again a few minutes later, capitalizing on a short cross from Kostić, which he shot but was blocked by Bani, resulting in another corner.

Juventus players squandered a chance that could have been dangerous when the ball reached Vlahović in midfield, who penetrated but passed incorrectly to Chiesa. The second half started poorly for both sides with no chances initially, until Juventus winger Eling Jr. threatened Genoa's goal with the most dangerous opportunity. Eling received the ball outside the area and launched a low shot with his left foot, which the goalkeeper Martinez saved as it struck the left post and turned into a corner.

In the 69th minute, Cambiaso sent a cross from the right side, which Vlahović met with a dangerous header that went past Genoa's right post. Vlahović wasted another certain opportunity in the 75th minute after a cross from the right that he headed over the crossbar. The right post of Genoa denied a dying chance for a last-minute goal when the ball reached substitute Moise Kean, who fired a powerful low shot from the edge of the area in the 90+1 minute, hitting the post and preventing him from scoring a decisive winner.

In the 90+3 minute, the referee showed a red card to Juventus striker Vlahović, who appeared very angry with the referee's decisions.
