The change-making MPs: Melhem Khalaf, Najat Aoun, Yassin Yassin, Elias Gradi, and Firas Hamdan, announced in a statement issued after their visit to the besieged village of Ghajar this afternoon: "We, the nation’s deputies, stand here on the outskirts of the besieged village of Ghajar, on the Lebanese-Syrian border, to openly tell the world that the Israeli enemy's seizure of the northern part of Ghajar is a grave aggression against Lebanon and a continuation of the ongoing assault on Lebanese sovereignty, constituting a blatant violation of all international charters and resolutions, which cannot be ignored or overlooked."
They mentioned, "We were present today in Ghajar, just as we were a year ago in Naqoura to affirm Lebanon's rights and its entitlement to Line 29," and stated: "We reaffirm our commitment to every ounce of our land, to every drop of water from our sea, with no preference between one area and another, and no discrimination between one citizen and another."
They confirmed that "the concept of sovereignty is indivisible, and we are all responsible for all Lebanese territories, with no compromise or abandonment of any inch of our homeland's land and waters, nor of any sovereign resources that belong to the entire Lebanese people." The MPs condemned "the Lebanese government's timid, lax, and negligent stance in the face of this grave incident, and once again call upon it to exhaust all pressure measures, without any delay, to immediately lift this blatant occupying encroachment."
