An Israeli Knesset member stated today that "the fighting with Hamas and Iran could last for 20 years." According to Israeli Radio "Reshet Bet" this morning, Knesset member Michal Biton, from the "National Camp" party, led by Israeli War Council head Benny Gantz, mentioned that "the most urgent and necessary matter is to bring back those held by Hamas from the Gaza Strip."
Biton explained in an interview with the Israeli Broadcasting Authority's radio that his party, "National Camp," has presented Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a plan of 6 objectives to work on until the 8th of next month. However, he noted that the party could withdraw from the coalition government before that date. He stressed that the most crucial priority at the moment is to return Israeli captives held by Hamas in Gaza, even if it requires his country to cease hostilities in the region for several weeks, adding that "the fighting with Hamas and Iran may take about 20 years," as he put it.
Gantz had threatened the war government to approve a 6-point plan for the conflict in Gaza by June 8th, giving Netanyahu's government until June 8th to establish a clear strategy for the war, adding: "There is a need for change now, and we will not allow this farce to continue."
