Drones Launch Towards Israel and Heightened Alert in Northern Settlements

The military media of "Hezbollah" announced that "offensive strike drones launched from Lebanon towards the northern settlements, prompting the activation of the Iron Dome. Sirens sounded in the eastern sector accompanied by explosions from Ramot Naftali in the south, passing through the Manara settlement, reaching the areas of Ramim, Kiryat Shmona, and Kfar Yuval." Correspondent for Al-Manar: "The offensive strike drones coming from Lebanon are again in the skies over the northern settlements in occupied Palestine, with the Iron Dome activated and alarm sirens in the eastern sector alongside explosions from Ramot Naftali in the south, passing through the Manara settlement up to the areas of Ramim and Kiryat Shmona." — Ali Shoeib (@alishoeib1970) May 7, 2024

Hezbollah announced in a statement that it targeted Israeli officers and soldiers in the "Yiftach" barracks in the Galilee using several remote-controlled strike drones. "At the same time, other drones targeted one of the Iron Dome batteries stationed south of Ramot Naftali and hit it directly, causing damage."

The "Islamic Resistance" stated in another announcement that its fighters targeted surveillance equipment at the Samqa site in the Kfar Shuba hills, in addition to a targeted operation monitor-and-following soldiers of the enemy at the monastery site while they were moving inside one of the bunkers using guided missile weapons, resulting in a direct hit.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that "six suicide drones were launched from Lebanon, five of which exploded in the Upper Galilee, causing damage and fires." The Kiryat Shmona municipality urged its residents to stay in bomb shelters due to the fear of a drone infiltration.

In another development, the Israeli army announced, "For the second consecutive day, a drone heading from Iraq to Israel has been intercepted." Israeli army spokesperson Avichai Adraee noted that "during the last night hours, fighter jets of the air force intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle flying towards Israel from the east, which was under the monitoring of IDF forces. The hostile drone did not pose a threat, thus no alerts were activated. There were no casualties or damages."
