Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan met with Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri at the second presidential office in Ain al-Tineh. The meeting discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region, as well as the latest developments on the ground and politically in light of Israel's continued aggression against the Gaza Strip and the Lebanese villages along the border with Palestine. Abdollahiyan also met with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati at his residence in Beirut. He arrived on Wednesday afternoon at the General Aviation Building at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut, leading an Iranian delegation. Abdollahiyan stated at the airport, "I would like to pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs of Palestine, Lebanon, the resistance, and the martyr reporters, including Farah Omar and Rabi’ Ma'amari." He added, "Without a doubt, the passage of six weeks of heroic resistance by the Palestinians has proven that time is not in favor of the artificial Israeli entity. Six weeks of resistance in Gaza have demonstrated that the absolute loser in the eyes of world public opinion is America and the Zionist entity. There is no doubt that the Palestinian people will decide the future of Palestine. We have heard from the leaders of resistance in the region that hands will be on the trigger until the full rights of the Palestinian people are realized and until the struggle against the occupation in the region reaches a conclusion. We are here today in Beirut to conduct talks with the top authorities in Lebanon regarding how to achieve maximum security in the region and to also fulfill the rights of the Palestinians."
