Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atty indicated on Wednesday that "the Israeli army's control over the Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side exposes the Palestinians to a humanitarian catastrophe." During a press conference with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, Abdel-Atty stated: "We discussed the extreme gravity of the escalation in Gaza, which could lead the entire region to a comprehensive war."
In turn, Safadi said: "We agree on the necessity to end the war on the Gaza Strip and the humanitarian catastrophe it has caused." He added: "The Jordanian and Egyptian positions are aligned regarding the Palestinian issue."
