Protest Outside the Central Bank of Lebanon: Trust Will Only Return with the Return of Funds

Hanna Al-Bitar, the head of the founding body of the Depositors' Union, confirmed during a protest outside the Central Bank of Lebanon today, Wednesday, that "the issue of depositors is not just about people who placed their life savings in banks; it is primarily a national issue. The expatriate whose money was stolen in Lebanon will not return, nor will his children, just like the depositor in Lebanon." He noted that "there can be no economic recovery without the presence of banks, and there can be no banks without the restoration of trust. This trust will only return with the return of funds to depositors."
