The ministry stated in a press release on its website: "The Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian ambassador today, June 18, to protest against Russia's violation of Swedish airspace on Friday, June 14." The local newspaper "Express" had mentioned earlier that the Swedish Armed Forces reported that a Russian aircraft had violated Swedish airspace. For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense has repeatedly stated that all flights of Russian military aircraft are conducted strictly in accordance with international rules for airspace use.
