The Pakistani Federal Investigation Agency confirmed that it arrested eight women at Multan International Airport who were heading to Saudi Arabia for the purpose of begging. Pakistani media outlets clarified that the identities of the eight women who were arrested have been confirmed. It was noted that they were in possession of 200 Saudi riyals and were transferred to the Human Trafficking Department for further legal action. The Pakistani Federal Investigation Agency also mentioned that in December of the previous year, it had arrested nine individuals suspected of involvement in begging, who were discovered wearing Umrah pilgrim attire on a flight heading to Saudi Arabia from Multan Airport.
