However, the British newspaper recalled that U.S. officials previously stated that Israel had provided no evidence to support claims that Hamas is diverting aid.
A spokesperson for one of the far-right Israeli groups commented, "The job of a police officer or soldier is supposed to be to protect Israelis, but instead, they are sent to protect aid convoys, knowing they will end up in Hamas’s hands." They added, "We cannot blame security forces for leaking security information." These groups accuse their government of "giving gifts to Hamas."
