Israeli tanks unexpectedly advanced this morning, Thursday, into Shuja'iya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City amid heavy artillery and air strikes. The spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza stated that tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians have been displaced due to the Israeli army's shelling, noting that there have been several martyrs and injuries in Shuja'iya, and that their teams are unable to reach them. He called on international organizations to intervene to protect civilians, especially children in Shuja'iya.
The Israeli army also continued today its intense air and artillery bombardment on areas in the Gaza Strip, particularly in the Jabalia and Nuseirat camps, Khan Younis, and Beit Lahia. According to initial reports, the shelling has resulted in a number of fatalities and injuries.
