An Egyptian content creator surprised her followers by announcing that she is suing Facebook after the platform marked her accounts as "deceased." Sandra Fares, who produces content related to fashion and travel and has thousands of followers across various social media platforms, appeared in a video she posted on Instagram, expressing her shock at the "deceased" label on her Facebook accounts while she was on a plane traveling abroad.
She added that she does not know who submitted documentation to Facebook claiming she was deceased, emphasizing, "I don't care who did this or who submitted forged papers." She also explained that her family was alarmed by the situation, especially since she was on a four-hour flight and couldn't be contacted.
Sandra confirmed that her account is verified with a blue tick and that Facebook should have verified her "death" before taking such action. She held Facebook responsible for this significant error and the psychological distress it caused her, while promising her followers that she would soon share a video detailing her lawsuit against the platform. In a light-hearted comment on another account, she quipped: "I am still alive, Facebook!"
