Slovak President Peter Pellegrini signed a law today, Wednesday, that limits housing compensation for refugees from Ukraine, according to the Slovak presidential website. The Slovak parliament had previously approved this document, and now compensation for housing refugees from Ukraine will be paid only within 120 days from the granting of the initial asylum in Slovakia. Representatives of vulnerable groups can apply for this compensation without time restrictions. According to the document, vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities, the elderly, and children under five, are exempted, and housing for them will be provided at the state's expense without a time limit. The changes will take effect starting July of next year.
