Arrival of the Father of the Victim Girls from Ainata Airstrike at Beirut Airport

The grieving father, Mahmoud Adnan Shour, arrived at Beirut Airport today, Monday, where his three daughters, Talin, Rimas, and Layan, would usually greet him with flowers. However, this time he will be alone, as his wife, Huda, is in the hospital being treated for shrapnel that filled her body. He is set to bury his daughters, victims of the Israeli airstrike yesterday on their grandmother's car, tomorrow Tuesday at 10:30 AM local time. The father appeared to be in a state of collapse as he was received by his family.

On the way to displacement, the sisters Rimas, Dalin, and Layan Shour were preparing to move to Beirut for temporary schooling due to escalating clashes between Israel and Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon. Their uncle, Samir Ayoub, who witnessed the strike while driving on the same road, stated, “Unfortunately, I couldn’t rescue the children who were crying and asking for help while burning before my eyes.” He wept as he recounted the story, remembering words like "Uncle" and "Save my children." He added that the girls burned to death inside the car. Ayoub, a local journalist, made these remarks to Reuters today while checking the wreckage of the car, lifting schoolbooks and charred bags caused by the explosion. He questioned, “Are these the schoolbooks of terrorists?”

The three sisters are 14, 12, and 10 years old, and they are the latest victims of the ongoing war in the Middle East, which began on October 7. Samir Ayoub believes that an Israeli drone carried out the attack, stating that it was easy to see that the car was carrying children. He said, “The children were playing” near the car before getting in. He and other family members noted that the area had been shelled in the morning, but it had stopped, and they only heard drone sounds in the sky before the explosion. Reuters could not verify Ayoub's statements.

Ahlam Ibrahim, another relative, expressed that she does not expect this latest dark chapter in southern Lebanon to be the last, adding that this is not new for Israel and not the first time they have suffered such tragedies.

The funeral timing was announced by the family of the grandmother, “the martyr Hajj Samira Abdul Hussain Ayoub (Um Adnan) and her three granddaughters: Rimas, Talin, and Layan Mahmoud Shour, along with the residents of the towns of Aitaroun, Ainata, and Blida, are invited to participate in the funeral of the wronged martyrs on the path to Jerusalem, tomorrow, Tuesday at 10:30 AM in the cemetery of Blida.”
