The ministry stated in a statement: "Defending Lebanon is a fundamental principle for us, and there is no doubt that we will support Lebanon against any Israeli aggression." It continued: "Any aggression against Lebanon will create a basis for increased tensions in the region and threatens security and peace in it." It also confirmed that "channels of indirect negotiation with Washington remain open, and there are multiple ways to exchange messages between us."
