The Ministry of Construction and Housing announced the opening of a new bridge as part of the first package of projects aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the capital, Baghdad. The ministry stated in a statement that "the Al-Jamila Al-Fuqani Bridge was opened along the Army Canal for the movement of vehicles from the Al-Jamila area." It clarified that "this bridge is part of the project connecting the Al-Jamila area with Al-Jihad Street - Bab Al-Muadham, within the first package of projects to alleviate traffic congestion in the capital, Baghdad."
