Today, Wednesday, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued a federal decree regarding the formation of the UAE Council for Sharia Fatwa and appointed His Excellency Abdullah bin Bayyah as its president.
The council's membership includes:
- Omar Habtoor Al Dhaheri as Vice President
- Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri
- Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Haddad
- Jamal Salem Al Tarifi
- Ibrahim Obeid Ali Al Ali
- Abdul Rahman Ali Hamid Al Shamsi
- Ahmed Ibrahim Al Taniqi
- Fatima Saif Al Dahmani
