Three Lebanese Records at the World Swimming Championship

The Lebanese delegation that participated in the 50-meter swimming World Championship, held in Fukuoka (Japan), included Secretary Fredi Abi Raad, coach François Ghattas, and swimmers Mondhir Kabbara, Simon Dweihy, as well as female swimmers Lynn Al-Haj and Mari Khoury. The team broke three Lebanese records (two by Lynn Al-Haj and one by Mondhir Kabbara, who also qualified for the World Championship that will take place in Doha next year). The records are as follows:

*Mondhir Kabbara - 18 years and above (Mont La Salle Club):*

- **200 meters Individual Medley:** 2:02.99 minutes (new record, previous was 2:03.08 for the same swimmer), finished 28th out of 52 participants.

- **400 meters Individual Medley:** 4:28.58 minutes, finished 26th out of 30 participants.

*Simon Dweihy - 18 years and above (Aquamaryna Club):*

- **100 meters Freestyle:** 51.08 seconds, finished 55th out of 116 participants.

- **200 meters Freestyle:** 1:55.96 minutes, finished 57th out of 74 participants.

*Mari Khoury - 18 years and above (Safra Marin Club):*

- **50 meters Backstroke:** 31.14 seconds, finished 46th out of 64 participants.

- **50 meters Freestyle:** 27.04 seconds, finished 56th out of 106 participants.

*Lynn Al-Haj - 16-17 years (Al-Jazeera Club):*

- **50 meters Breaststroke:** 33.10 seconds (new record, previous was 33.29 seconds for the same swimmer), finished 39th out of 55 participants.

- **100 meters Breaststroke:** 1:11.57 minutes (new record, previous was 1:13.64 for the same swimmer), finished 43rd out of 57 participants.
