The mayor of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and the wider administrative region clarified on Telegram this Sunday that Russia launched an air assault on Kyiv and its surrounding area. Meanwhile, two Russian officials reported today that Ukraine fired dozens of drones overnight targeting several Russian regions, although there were no reports of damage.
Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of Bryansk, stated on Telegram that at least 23 drones were destroyed over the region located in western Russia near the Ukrainian border. Vasily Anokhin, the governor of the Smolensk region in western Russia, also mentioned that Russian air defense systems destroyed drones over the area. It remains unclear how many drones were actually downed.
The officials indicated that, according to preliminary information, there were no fatalities or injuries in the region, and no damage was reported in both areas.
