Israeli media reported that firefighting teams in Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel are attempting to prevent fires from spreading to homes after rockets were launched from southern Lebanon. For hours, firefighting teams have been trying to extinguish the fires caused by Hezbollah rockets.
In comments regarding the fires in northern Israel, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir stated, "The fires in northern Israel are a sign of bankruptcy and a continuation of the containment policy, and it is time for Lebanon to burn."
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority (KAN) revealed today that over 10,000 dunams have burned in northern Israel due to the fires ignited by rockets fired by Hezbollah from southern Lebanon, with 14 Israeli rescue teams working to extinguish the fires which broke out after more than 240 days of war on the Gaza Strip.
The "Times of Israel" reported that extensive fires continue to rage in the Kiryat Shmona settlement, amid Israeli panic and criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which has failed to protect Israelis and allowed incidents of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" at the hands of Palestinian factions to occur.
Israeli media pointed to 15 locations burning in northern Israel, some as a result of rocket launches from Lebanon. Additionally, reports of a large fire near the Shlomi settlement due to Hezbollah rockets falling this evening were mentioned.
Israeli Channel 12 stated that firefighting teams are struggling to prevent the fires from reaching the town of Kahal and a military site in the Upper Galilee. The Upper Galilee Regional Council commented on the situation, saying, "A black day in every sense of the word."
