UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that "joint Arab action is a fundamental pillar for establishing sustainable stability and security in the region, meeting the aspirations of its peoples for development, prosperity, and a dignified life." Bin Zayed's remarks came during his working dinner in Abu Dhabi yesterday with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Miqdad, where he welcomed him and expressed pride in his visit to the UAE.
During the meeting, bin Zayed and Al-Miqdad discussed "the bilateral relations between the UAE and the Syrian Arab Republic and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, including developmental areas, to serve the common interests of both countries," according to a statement from the UAE News Agency (WAM).
The Emirati minister emphasized "the deep brotherly relations between the UAE and the Syrian Arab Republic and the commitment to develop them for the benefit of both countries and their peoples," wishing Syria "lasting security and stability, and prosperity and development for its brotherly people." The officials also discussed several issues of mutual concern, as well as overall developments in the regional and international arenas, particularly in the Middle East.
