A Spanish news report revealed that Deco, Barcelona's sports director, met with the agent of Dani Olmo, the player from German club Leipzig, in preparation for a potential transfer during the ongoing summer transfer window. According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Deco met with Olmo's agent to discuss personal terms in order to facilitate the transfer.
The newspaper added, "Signing Olmo is not necessarily linked to how things are progressing with Williams." Olmo's contract contains a buyout clause of €60 million that expires on July 20, which has attracted interest from Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City.
Olmo played a crucial role in helping Spain secure UEFA Euro 2024, as the national team (the Matador) won all their matches, leading them to set a record for the most European Championship titles, previously shared with Germany. Reports have linked the 26-year-old Olmo with potential moves to Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Liverpool during this summer's transfer period.
