On Sunday, Melania Trump described the perpetrator of the assassination attempt against her husband, former U.S. President Donald Trump, as a "monster," condemning the shooting that injured the Republican presidential candidate for the upcoming elections in November. She wrote in a statement on the platform "X": "A monster who considered my husband an inhuman political machine attempted to extinguish Donald's passion, his laughter, and his love for music and inspiration."
She also added: "When I saw that violent bullet strike my husband Donald, I realized that my life and my son Barron's life were on the brink of devastating change."
She continued: "I am grateful to the brave Secret Service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their lives to protect my husband." The former First Lady has rarely participated in her husband's upcoming election campaign and has not appeared at any of his campaign events. She has also largely been absent from his trial sessions in recent months.
