Mikati: We Do Not Want Anyone to Defile Lebanese Land

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati indicated that "the rules of engagement at the southern borders between Lebanon and Israel remain unchanged, but there are no international guarantees to which we can trust." In an interview with Turkish channel "TRT," he pointed out that "in this criminal mentality present among the Israeli enemy, which involves killing children, women, and the elderly, as well as displacement and destruction, what guarantees can be given when we see this ongoing aggression against Gaza daily, and no one cares or responds internationally?" Mikati confirmed, "We do not want a war; we are seeking peace, but at the same time, we do not want anyone to defile Lebanese land." He continued, saying, "We fully support the Palestinian cause, but we are trying as much as possible to spare Lebanon from entering into bloody battles."
