Ronaldo's Stance on the Georgia Match

Roberto Martinez, the head coach of the Portugal national team, has decided not to make fundamental changes to his squad for the upcoming match against Georgia on Wednesday, which is the last group stage match for the UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany, despite having already secured qualification for the round of 16. While the Spanish team made 10 changes against Albania on Monday after ensuring their spot in the next round and still won 1-0, Martinez indicated that he would implement some changes, but they would not be drastic even though his team has guaranteed the top position in Group F.

Martinez stated at a press conference on Tuesday: "We will field a strong team; there will be no radical changes." He added: "Diogo Costa will be in goal," noting that the all-time top scorer for the Portugal national team, Cristiano Ronaldo (39 years old), will start the match after also participating in the last two matches. He continued: "He has had a very good season; it’s important to maintain his level. He is the captain and will be present in the team."
