Protecting Netanyahu's Son: New Recommendation from "Shin Bet"

Protecting Netanyahu's Son: New Recommendation from

The Israeli internal security service (Shin Bet) has recommended replacing the security detail for Yair Netanyahu, son of Benjamin Netanyahu, with security personnel from the Prime Minister's Office. According to the "Jerusalem Post," this recommendation was revealed during a meeting of the advisory committee for the protection of state symbols held on June 9.

It was added that Shin Bet proposed during the meeting to replace the agency's personal security unit with "Magan" personnel, a unit comprised of security staff from the Prime Minister's Office, which is well-equipped to provide necessary protection.

The source noted that the decision concerning the exceptional security arrangements for the Netanyahu family is expected to be passed by Shin Bet to the Cabinet committee, where it may face some challenges.

On another note, the "Times of Israel" reported that Netanyahu had requested earlier this month that his wife Sara and their sons Avner and Yair receive lifetime security protection from Shin Bet, even if he steps down from the premiership. In response, the Prime Minister's Office stated that "this report is full of lies and defamatory claims."
