Sisi and the President of the European Commission: The Necessity of Solving the Palestinian Issue

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi confirmed that "relations between Egypt and the European Union are witnessing positive developments in various areas of cooperation, and today's conference is a message of confidence and support from the European Union for our economy." In a speech during the opening session of the Egypt-European Union Investment Conference held today in Cairo, Sisi stated, "This development was crowned by the signing of the political declaration to elevate relations between the two sides to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership last March."

Sisi noted that "there are six areas of partnership between Egypt and the European Union, with investment being the foremost." He added that "Egypt is a key strategic partner for the European Union in the region," explaining that "international and regional crises impose burdens on all countries, and Egypt has proven to be a reliable partner for the European Union in facing these challenges."

Sisi warned against the expansion of conflict in the region in a manner that poses grave dangers. He emphasized that his country has implemented numerous reforms to empower the private sector and support a green economy. He continued, "The investment conference will showcase available investment opportunities in Egypt."

Sisi stated that "Egypt is making rapid and successive steps towards economic reform," asserting that "today's conference is a message of confidence and support from the European Union for the Egyptian economy." Both Sisi and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stressed the "necessity of reaching a solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, and that the decisions of international legitimacy will remain the best way to ensure stability."

The Egyptian President and the President of the European Commission opened the joint Egyptian-European investment conference today in Cairo.
