State Security Inspects Generators in Beirut

The Directorate of State Security in Beirut, in coordination with the relevant departments, conducted inspections of companies, institutions, and private generators in the capital, aiming to compel their owners to install filters according to the conditions and specifications set by the Ministry of Environment. The statement clarified that the increasing disputes between generator owners and residents prompted the concerned authorities to assign the State Security Directorate to follow up on this matter. Instructions were issued by General Tony Saliba to send warnings to non-compliant generator owners, followed by notices to install filters. If there is continued refusal, confiscation will occur in favor of the municipalities after obtaining judicial approval.
