Expert Pyotr Fivelov from the security firm "Vityaz" pointed out that the former U.S. President Donald Trump should have been protected during public events using various means such as bags and armored shields. The Russian expert noted that none of these measures were present during the assassination attempt on Trump. Fivelov criticized the work of the security agencies guarding Trump, stating, "If armored shields were used, the attacker would not be able to physically see the potential victim. They stood around him and raised their hands, which in itself is not a definitive barrier against sniper shots, for example."
Furthermore, the escort and security personnel first dropped to cover Trump with their bodies and then allowed him to stand in a position where his face and head were exposed. Fivelov continued, "I believe this is not entirely correct because if someone can carry out an assassination attempt like this, we cannot rule out the possibility of a second or third sniper who might be positioned at a different angle towards the potential victim." The expert emphasized the necessity, in such cases, to identify all potential firing points, such as the surface from which the criminal fired, and to have these controlled by security personnel.
