The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Monday: "As part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and promotion in Beirut city, and to track down those involved and arrest them, information became available to the Beirut Investigation Unit about the activities of two individuals promoting drugs in the Ramla Bayda area and its surroundings. As a result of investigations carried out by the unit's personnel, their identities and whereabouts were established, namely:
- M. H. (born in 1985, Lebanese)
- M. J. (born in 1992, Lebanese)
On June 6, 2024, after surveillance, one of the patrols managed to arrest them in a well-planned ambush in the aforementioned area, riding a motorcycle without plates. Upon searching them and the motorcycle, a military pistol and a large quantity of prohibited materials divided and prepared for promotion were seized as follows:
- 26 plastic bags containing approximately 26 grams of cocaine, labeled "Net El Malek"
- 12 plastic bags containing approximately 12 grams of base cocaine labeled "Baz El Malek"
- 10 plastic bags containing approximately 10 grams of "foreign cocaine"
- A plastic cap containing 8 pills of "Tidol"
- 6 plastic bags, each containing a substance resembling hashish, approximately the size of a peach
- 4 plastic bags containing approximately 4 grams of cocaine, labeled "Raml Net"
- A plastic bag containing 3 pills of "Lasa"
- 2 plastic bags containing marijuana plants approximately the size of a hand
- A plastic bag containing about 0.25 grams of base cocaine
- A military pistol including a magazine with 6 live 8mm rounds.
The detained individuals and the seized items were handed over to the competent authority based on the judicial reference, and the investigation is still ongoing."
