Launch of the Arab Declaration on Belonging and Legal Identity

The General Secretariat of the Arab League (Social Affairs Sector), in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Arab Institute for Human Rights, has launched the Arab Declaration on Belonging and Legal Identity. The event was attended by experts and representatives of mechanisms concerned with belonging and legal identity in Arab countries, as well as international organizations and media personnel. The Assistant Secretary-General for Social Affairs at the Arab League, Ambassador Haifa Abou Ghazaleh, emphasized that this declaration, which has been adopted as a guiding document, aims to enhance the protection of children and women by raising awareness about the importance of belonging and legal identity and its connection to human rights and sustainable development.
