UAE and Bahrain Sign 5 Memoranda of Understanding

The UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan chaired the eleventh session of the joint supreme committee between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain, while the Bahraini side was led by Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The UAE Foreign Minister noted the "deep UAE-Bahrain relations and their historical roots, established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brother Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may their souls rest in peace." He added that this path of cooperation and achievement was continued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, and his brother His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may God protect him.

He stated, "The UAE has always viewed its sister Bahrain as a strategic partner and an integral part of the progress and prosperity in the Arabian Gulf and the entire region." He further mentioned, "Our non-oil bilateral trade in goods has witnessed significant growth over the past years, reaching approximately 7 billion dollars in 2022. We continuously look forward to enhancing our bilateral relations across various fields, including trade and investment, education, culture, renewable energy, fintech, tourism, health, in addition to working together within the integrated industrial partnership launched by the UAE with Bahrain, Jordan, and Egypt last year."

Following this, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan witnessed the signing of 5 memoranda of understanding between the two countries. Below are the details of the memoranda of understanding that were signed:

- A Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Authority for Human Resources and the Civil Service Bureau in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

- A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

- A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and the Nasser Center for Vocational Qualification and Training in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

- A Memorandum of Understanding between UAE University and the University of Bahrain.

- A Memorandum of Understanding between the Dubai Future Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
