Artist Amr Diab has sparked anger and disappointment among some of his fans after behaving inappropriately with a sound engineer, as he slapped him on the back casually and then expelled him in front of attendees at a wedding in Cairo.
In detail, Diab was performing at the wedding of artist Reem Sami, sister of director Mohamed Sami, with a large number of artists and guests in attendance. However, during his performance of one of the songs, a sound technician appeared to adjust the speakers, which angered Diab. He stopped singing, struck the man on the back, and expelled him, asking him to leave the stage.
A video of the incident was shared by a fashion designer named Nour, who has around half a million followers on TikTok, and it quickly spread on social media, attracting sharp criticism of the famous Egyptian artist. This led the account holder to disable the comment feature.
This is not the first time such behavior has been noted. Diab has previously upset his fans, urging him to treat his crew better, especially since this is not the first incident involving him. There have been documented videos of his "shameful" interactions with his driver and a personal security guard, and even fans have not been spared from his anger.
Earlier, Diab was seen asking about his driver in an inappropriate manner when he was leaving a concert held at the Egyptian Opera House in February. Surrounded by fans wanting to take photos, Diab appeared irritated and commented, "Come on, give us a break, where's our animal? Where's our driver?"
Additionally, in April, Diab was at the wedding of Egyptian singer Mohamed Fouad's son, and while heading to the restroom with a friend, fans chased after him. Before entering the restroom, he turned to them and exclaimed, "Are you going to follow me into the bathroom? You’re stupid, you and him?" causing the follower to stop filming and end the video.
In 2018, Diab also hit one of his personal guards during an event. After a guest approached the stage to hug him and take a photo, one of Diab's bodyguards intervened to keep the young man away from him. Diab did not appreciate this action, quickly pushed the guard away, and struck him in front of the audience, allowing the young man to take a photo with Diab afterward.
