A large fire broke out today, Saturday, in several shops in the Al-Ashar area in the center of Basra city, southern Iraq. Civil defense teams rushed to extinguish the fire before it spread to more shops. No human losses have been reported so far. According to local media, the civil defense teams acted swiftly to contain the fire. The situation is still developing as the fire continues to be addressed.
