Unprecedented Rate: Over 800 Israeli Officers Resigned

Hebrew media reported today, Monday, that "more than 800 officers with the rank of Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel have submitted their resignations this year at an almost unprecedented rate." Hebrew media also confirmed today "the death of a soldier and the injury of 10 others from resistance fire during the battles in Gaza." The Hebrew site "Israel Without Censorship" reported, "A soldier was killed and 10 others were injured, including 3 in critical condition, in an explosion of a booby-trapped tunnel near an army unit during battles in Gaza." It noted, "A plane landed this morning at (Soroka) Hospital carrying wounded soldiers from the battles in Gaza." The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced today that they "targeted two Merkava tanks and an occupying force and sniper shot a soldier in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza." According to Israeli army data, the number of soldiers killed since the start of aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7 has risen to 668, including 314 in ground battles in the Gaza Strip that began on the 27th of the same month.
