Several players at Tottenham Hotspur are facing the prospect of leaving the club during the upcoming summer transfer window to make way for expected signings for the next season. Tottenham's Greek-Australian coach, Ange Postecoglou, emphasized the need for changes within the squad ahead of a busy summer, during which club officials will listen to offers for several players, including Brazilian forward Richarlison.
The London club has faced a decline in results recently, suffering three consecutive defeats leading up to the match against Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield in the 36th round of the English Premier League. Tottenham experienced a humiliating defeat against Newcastle 4-0 in the 33rd round of the Premier League, then fell at home in the North London derby against Arsenal 3-2, before continuing their losing streak against Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
According to the British newspaper "The Telegraph," in addition to Richarlison, Tottenham is prepared to part ways with several other players in the summer transfer window, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emerson Royal, as Postecoglou plans for the next phase of rebuilding the English club.
The newspaper added that midfielder Yves Bissouma will not be among those actively offered for sale this summer; however, if a substantial offer comes in for the Malian player, Tottenham will consider the possibility of his departure.
The English club currently has two transfer plans if they finish in fifth place as they are now or if they qualify for the upcoming season of the UEFA Champions League. Coach Postecoglou's team is in fifth place in the Premier League standings this season with 60 points, having won 18 matches, drawn 6, and lost 10 out of 34 games played so far.
Tottenham has various potential alternatives in the summer transfer market to strengthen their squad, as they are currently monitoring players such as midfielders Conor Gallagher (Chelsea) and Amadou Onana (Everton), defenders Lloyd Kelly (Bournemouth) and Tosin Adarabioyo (Fulham), in addition to attacking duo Raphinha (Barcelona) and Samuel Iling-Junior (Juventus).
