U.S. and British fighter jets renewed their targeting of Houthi sites in the coastal province of Hudaydah, western Yemen, which has been turned into a base for launching attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea. Houthi media reported that U.S. and British fighters targeted Hudaydah International Airport with three airstrikes late Wednesday into Thursday, without providing additional details on these strikes. Following the outbreak of war in Gaza in October, the Houthi group began executing a series of attacks against commercial shipping vessels in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, prompting the United States to form a coalition to protect international shipping, which conducted a series of airstrikes in several areas under Houthi control aimed at diminishing their military capabilities. Additionally, the Yemeni army announced the death and injury of several Houthi members on Wednesday during clashes in Taiz province in the southwest of the country. The Media Center for the Taiz Military Axis stated that "two Houthi members were killed (one of them a leader), while two others were injured during a special operation carried out by the army against Houthi positions on the Al-Sarmin front east of the city of Taiz."
