Injuries from Building Collapse Near Metro Station in Cairo

A residential building consisting of three floors collapsed near a metro station in Egypt's capital, Cairo, resulting in injuries. Authorities received reports of the collapse in front of the Mohamed Naguib Metro Station in the Abdeen neighborhood, injuring five elderly female residents of the building with minor injuries. An security source told "Al-Arabiya Net" that the injuries were minor, consisting of bruises, and no fatalities or other injuries were reported. Civil defense forces arrived at the scene to begin removing the debris and cut off utilities to the building, while authorities dispatched several ambulances to transport the injured. It was found that the ceiling of the ground floor, which was used as an oil storage area, collapsed, leading to the failure of the remaining floors. Authorities have decided to summon local officials to assess the building's condition and its permits. Necessary legal procedures have been initiated, and the case has been referred to the public prosecution for investigation.
