Geagea: No Acceptance of Foreign Students Without Valid Residency

The President of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, directed a message to the Minister of Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Halabi, stating: "Your Excellency, Minister of Education: By the academic year 2024-2025, the situation in schools, all schools, across various levels, must return to its legal status. This means that, just as every student applying for admission to a public or private school is required to present their identification documents, I also urge you to issue a circular to all schools, regardless of type, not to accept any foreign student, whether Syrian or otherwise, who does not possess valid residency issued by the Lebanese General Security. This document is the only legal one in the eyes of the state." Geagea added via "X": "The Ministry of Education must, therefore, be at the forefront of compliance with this matter."
