Putin: Russia Interested in Attracting Scientists

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia is interested in attracting highly qualified specialists and scientists from around the world. During a meeting with recipients of special grants (Megagrant) and leading scientists, Putin stated, "We are interested in attracting specialists who can come to us from around the world without any problems." He clarified that they are looking to attract high-level specialists, adding, "Of course, we will do this."

Putin also urged regions to create good living conditions for qualified foreign specialists and scientists. In this context, he said, "I believe that the problem needs to be solved not only at the federal level but also at the regional level; we need to create good living conditions for those people who come and want to work."

He pointed out that some countries, for various reasons unrelated to current foreign policy situations, are halting research in the field of nuclear sciences and are closing nuclear power plants. Putin concluded by saying, "Specialists in these fields simply have nowhere to go, and they want to come to us; we just need to create the conditions for that, and we will certainly do it."
